Chocolate contains serotonin which alleviates depression. it is rich in flavonoids, vitamins and antioxidants which keep the cardiovascular system in prime state of health. similarly, it makes the arteries and veins more flexible and controls blood pressure.
With a healthy amount of antioxidants and vitamins, it helps in both fighting cancer, ageing process and supplies the body with much needed boost at times of being lethargic.
Recent studies have even proven that daily intake of chocolate reduces the risk of stroke. Chocolate also reduces the amount of free radicals in the body which are responsible for the ageing process, wrinkles and biological ageing of the body.
Even so, over indulgence is harmful for health as it does lead to obesity and even diabetes. Liver functioning can also be affected by the overeating of chocolate.
To control the habit, try eating chocolate after meals, when you are full or are just about to brush your teeth.
