Mobile Phones will Outnumber Humanity in 2012

According to Cisco, the networking company based in America, the number of mobiles and the Smartphones is going to outnumber the humans in the world in 2012. This prediction was put forward in their latest survey of the global mobile data traffic. It is also expected that by 2016, the total number of mobiles will reach 10 billion – almost 3 billion more than the total population of the world and the networks will carry 130 exabyte of the data around the networks.

The data traffic has increased to about 8 times during the last decade. Most of the data traffic has been increased owing to the introduction of 4G mobiles. It isn’t yet certain how this phenomenal increase in data traffic will impact human life but it is definitely a question that needs to be closely investigated.
