Wasim Akram Expects Pakistan to Flourish Under Dav Whatmore

Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram believes that Pakistan cricket will head towards a bright future under coach Dav Whatmore, but also believes that Mohsin Khan’s contribution towards the team shouldn’t be underestimated.

After a lot of deliberation, the PCB has finally decided to appoint Aussie Dav Whatmore, and Englishman Julien Fountain, as head coach and fielding coach, respectively.

The official announcement of the appointment will be made as soon as the current series between Pakistan and England concludes.

“Dav Whatmore’s experience of working in the sub-continent will definitely help him adjust to Pakistan and how the system work here,” said Wasim talking to ESPNStar.

“Apart from his vast experience as coach, the fact that his association with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh has been fruitful, will add value to his credentials and stature.”

Meanwhile the Pakistan Cricket Board are considering appointing Mohsin Khan as the chief selector after relieving him of duties of head coach keeping in mind his contribution to the team in the past six months.
